It’s that time of year again for the Melville Millionaire Farm & Leisure Lotto and we need your support. Last year we were within 45 tickets of a sellout. This year with your generosity, we anticipate a sell out. With you, the previous purchasers, our lotto can be a success. It’s crucial for the club to have a successful lottery. Just a reminder last year we had a person purchase a 3-pack for $250.00 and the person won on all three tickets, so please help out by purchasing a ticket for $100.00 or 3 - $250.00, it is a worthy cause, and perhaps one of the fine players you help support will make it to the big league! 

“It’s kind of a David and Goliath scenario”, we’ve got Melville, population 4,500, and we’re playing in a league where everyone is at least two times bigger than us and some as large as a million people. The WMBL also includes teams in Yorkton, Weyburn, Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Okotoks, Edmonton and Sherwood Park. Melville is the smallest market in the league. The team provides a lot of entertainment for the fans and when we’re on the road every time we play there’s always publicity for our community, you can’t buy that kind of thing. The baseball club provides an excellent place for young men to develop their skills and further their baseball careers. 

The revenue from the lottery won’t just help solidify the financial standing of the franchise, it’ll also assist the team on the field. For example: the additional funds could be the difference in allowing the team to bring in an extra pitcher for the playoff drive to help put us over the top. 

We’re playing in a big league but we just don’t have the people to do it (alone). We’ve been able to complete in the league but the costs just continually go up: travel, meals, accommodations, equipment, everything. Melville has always been such a good sports town but we’re fighting the odds all the time because we’re small. We are asking our community and the whole country to help us out by purchasing some lottery tickets. 

The total cash and prizes for the lottery are valued at over $217,764.00. First prize is a choice of $100,00.00 in cash or one of four packages (two are farm related, one is material for a cottage and the other is a package comprising of two vehicles, a boat and two ATV’s). The main draw is May 17 and the value of the grand prize package is $115,00.00 and up. An early bird draw will be held March 29th. It consists of an electric bicycle and $15,000.00 in cash prizes. There are a total of 118 prizes. Winner will be published in The Melville Advance, the Western Producer and available on our web site Millionairesbaseball.com. Also we’ve included a winners list of last years lotto. Just imagine you trying to decide which package you should take, or simply say write me a cheque for $100,000.00. But you have to purchase a ticket(s) for this years lotto to be eligible, so please don’t wait, as there will be no more reminders.
