Millionaires Farm and Leisure Lottery
Sunday, 11 May 2008 12:35 |
The draw date of the Melville Millionaire Farm and Leisure Lottery has been extended until June 8th 2008 and Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming has allowed us to remove any limit on 3 packs sold. If you have purchased a single ticket and would like a 3 pack we can sell you two more for $150.00. The non profit baseball club sold 2300 tickets and needed to sell 2600 to cover the expenses of the prizes printing and advertising. Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming has informed us that some of the most successful lotteries today needed a draw date extension in their early day. We need to sell another 700 tickets for the team to continue to operate. Therefore we are asking everyone who can to purchase tickets and make this a success.
Our Western Major Baseball League team is banking its future on the lottery designed to raise funds for the club, which has a minimum annual budget of around $125,000.
"It's kind of a David and Goliath scenario, "We've got Melville, population 4,500, and we're playing in a league where everyone is at least two times bigger than us and some as large as a million people. For us to generate enough money, we have to come up with a larger lottery than we've ever held before."
The WMBL also includes teams in Yorkton, Weyburn, Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Okotoks and Sherwood Park .
The baseball club provides an excellent place for young men to develop their skills and further their baseball careers. We provide excellent entertainment for the fans and when we're on the road we compete with Saskatchewan and Alberta’s best teams.
The revenue from the lottery won't just help solidify the financial standing of the franchise; it'll also assist the team on the field. For example, the additional funds could be the difference in allowing the team to bring in an extra pitcher for the playoff drive to help put us over the top.
We're playing in a big league but we just don't have the people to do it (alone). We've been able to compete in the league but the costs just continually go up: Travel, meals, accommodations, equipment, everything. Melville has always been such a good sports town but we're fighting the odds all the time because we're small. We're asking you to help us out by purchasing some lottery tickets." We need your support and generosity and in return someone, even you may be rewarded by winning one of 87 prizes, that are to be drawn on June 8th at Melville's Pirie Field, home of the Melville Millionaires Baseball team. We encourage you to attend the game at Melville, it's a 2:00 pm start, come and see our beautiful field and let yourself be entertained by the players. As you witness a great game of baseball, in this elite league.
This is a first time Lotto and we want to make it work for everyone, so don’t put this down please call right know, and support our team. Call 1-877-946-6457 or send a cheque immediately the deadline is near
We thank all those who have supported the The Melville Millionaires!!!!
